In Ibiza, one of the Balearic Islands, nature, culture and fun galore await you by day and by night. Its beaches and coves compete in beauty with the landscapes of its inland areas. Come and discover this holiday destination, designated World Heritage by UNESCO, and get carried away by its special magic. Ibiza, located in the South of the Balearic Islands, is the third biggest island of the five that make up the archipelago. Its excellent climate (annual average maximum temperature of 22ºC and minimum of 14 ºC) and a perfect balance between traditional lifestyle and a unique cosmopolitan setting has made it a much admired and sought-after location in the world. Average hours of sunshine per year: 2,883.1
Ibiza offers more than 18 km of fine quality beaches. You will find anything from rustic to modern ones, calm and safe beaches for the whole family or beaches that are just perfect to practice your favourite water sport.
You decide! And remember, you can access all the beaches very easily, as distances on the island are no further than 15 to 40 kilometres.
The combination of lack of waves and lack of cold water currents and a strong influence of the sun create the uniquely warm water temperatures during the whole year. During April and May, the water temperature is 19 ºC, and in June, 22ºC. In August and September water temperature rises up to 25º - 27º C. Thanks to the oceans thermal inertia, ideal water temperatures are maintained throughout the year.
Another important aspect is the exceptional transparency and visibility of its turquoise waters you will find at most beaches.
During the summer, most winds have a Southern or Eastern direction and are generally of low intensity. Most beachesare very well protected from the wind by small coves that are surrounded by mountains and capes.
